Yellow Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum from Thailand

The main difference from Chinese chrysanthemums is the size of the flower and the place of growth. Thai flowers are smaller, it has a brighter yellow color and less harsh aroma. The infusion has a transparent color with a yellow tint and a pleasant floral taste.

Flowers are used in Chinese traditional medicine for cooling effect, and tea gourmets like to add it to Puer and some other tea compositions.

How to Prepare Yellow Chrysanthemum

  • Water temperature: 80-100 °C / 176 - 212 °F.
  • Housewares: we don't recommend use paper or plastic.
  • Amount of tea and volume: 2 tbsp per 600 ml / 20.2 oz.
  • Number of infusions: 1-2.

 

  1. Place the flowers into the teapot and pour water into it.
  2. Leave the mixture for at least 5-7 minutes*.
  3. Drain the water out from a teapot and your tea is ready to serve.

 

* Increase time of next brewing for 7-10 minutes.
